Historically daughter of main French airline companies such as Compagnie Générale Transaérienne, Latécoère (future Aéropostale), Air Union, Farman, and Air Orient, Air France was created in 1933 by a merger of the four most important ones at that time. Its hub is situated in aAéroport de Paris Charles de Gaulle. Air France is nationalized in 1945 at the end of World War II. 1946 sees the 1st stewardess. In the 1950's, the company had already one the most important fleets in the world. A transatlantic flight would last 13 hours at that time, and has been reduced by half by introducing jet planes ten years later. From 1976 to 2003, the cult Concorde, inspiring rivalry, has left his mark of speed and comfort, associated with premium services. "La Première" and "Business" class are offered on long haul routes (more than 5 hours), and "Business" is also available on flights to Europe, Africa and Israel. Air France is one of the most important carrier of the world in terms of destinations, fleet, number of passengers, and market share. Air France is member of Sky team , one of the three Airline alliances. 1st class, known as "La première", and Business class passengers can access to dedicated lounges, as well as Platinum members of Flying Blue loyalty program.
