The renowned "enfant terrible" of fashion, named Lee in the real life, creates his own label in 1992, supported by Isabella Blow who stayed loyal despite controversies. His collection "Highland Rape" unveiled in 1995 caused scandal, showcasing tattered dresses made of scraps of tartan and chiffon, symbolism of his vision of the "rape" of Scotland by the English. Artistic Director at Maison Givenchy from 1996 to 2001, his extravagance is fully unleashed with his own label, where catwalk shows are sensational, shocking, using new technologies. Frequently criticised, he is nevertheless awarded and recognised in the world of fashion. He designed Kate Winslet's bridal dress in 1999 and will launch his first men collection in 2005. His suicide in 2010, the day before his mother funeral, leaves his company headless with debts, despite flourishing sales of accessories. In 2000, the Gucci Group acquired 51% of the company currently owned by Kering.
