History

Christie's is a sales auction company based in London. It was founded in 1766 by James Christie. Since the beginning of its story, the company has presented exceptional pieces and national treasures. It is nowadays one of the world's leading art companies. Christie's regularly holds world record sales. Christie's was the first auction house to develop its activities in Russia, China, India and the United Arab Emirates. Christie's and Sotheby's are very often associated in the world of art. They both have been involved in a price fixing scandal in the 2000s. French business man, François Pinault, through Artemis, bought the company in 1998.

Leonardo da Vinci |Salvator Mundi

On the master pieces side the world sale record is Leornardo da Vinci's Salvator Mundi (Saviour of the World) was bought US$450 million in New York, November 2017. And the world sale record in 2018 for the Winston Pink Legacy acquired by Harry Winston for US$50,375,000.
