The founding of the house and its DNA is fur and leather. In 1918, Adele Casagrande founded her company, dealing with fur and handbag design and production. In 1925, she married Eduardo Fendi, then the company became Fendi. In the early 40's, thanks to the five daughters of the founders, Fendi became a fashion empire. In 1965, they hired a young German stylist, Karl Lagerfeld, who created in addition to new collections the famous Fendi logo. Karl Lagerfeld stayed the creative director of the brand until 2019. The house is member of FONDAZIONE ALTAGAMMA.
