History

Bruce McLaren founded Bruce McLaren Motor Racing in 1963 for competing in automobile racing. The team first entered Formula One in 1966 as a constructor and it’s nowadays the most ancient and the most rewarded team with Ferrari. Flourishing years were definitely the 80s and 90s under the Alain Prost and Airton Senna lead. Fernando Alonso was until 2018 the pilote competing under Mc Laren’s banner. Pursuing the founder’s dream of creating the fastest sport car of the world, Ron Dennis founded Mc Laren cars in 1985, renamed thereafter McLaren Automotive. McLaren then begins to produce sport cars benefiting from its Formula 1 savoir-faire and technology. The existing partnership with Mercedes in Formula 1 is extended to produce the Mercedes Benz SLR Mc Laren in 1998. Mc Laren models include letters in their name meaning S for Sport, GT for Gran Tourisme, C for Club, and LT for Long Tail. Mc Laren cars are addressed to speed and luxury cars enthusiasts, Richard Mille being one of its best supporters as well as its sponsor. Mc Laren counts 80 points of sale in the world.
