From Florence to Hong Kong: The Italian Wonderbox
Our pick for this month's place to visit is none other than the Gucci LANDMARK store. If not recently opened, it is the brand’s flagship store in Hong Kong.
Ever since Guccio Gucci founded the house in Florence in 1921, the brand has been a destination for the world’s most discerning men and women, representing at once contemporary glamour and traditional Made In Italy craftsmanship. With its reputation for quality and Italian craftsmanship, Gucci designs, manufactures and distributes highly exclusive products such as leather goods shoes, ready-to-wear, silks, timepieces and fine jewellery.
Located on the corner of Queens Road and Ice House Street, the boutique location is also an easy stroll from the Louis Vuitton flagship store that grounds the opposite corner of The renowned Landmark shopping mall. Exhibiting a design concept by creative director Frida Giannini, the innovative store takes a step away from the conventional fashion boutiques clients have grown accustomed to.
To fully embody Gucci’s contemporary vibe, the interior of the store features the brand’s signature materials such as rosewood and marble, as well as elements characteristic of the elegant Art Deco era, such as warm polished gold, smoked mirror and smoked bronze glass. The boutique offers a DIY service for clients wishing to customise an extensive range of products for themselves. It also holds a private lounge for its most precious clients to try on exclusive products in an intimate setting.
This should be a must visit during your shopping journey in Hong Kong Island.
